My Story

I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. I graduated from East Carolina University with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and a certificate in Military and Civilian Trauma Studies. I primarily use a strengths-based and person-centered approach but I tailor each session to the specific needs of each client. I sometimes incorporate unique and experiential modalities such as animal-assisted therapy (animals as co-therapists) and art therapy techniques into my sessions as requested. I am currently being trained in the fundamentals of Natural Lifemanship, a technique specializing in trauma-informed equine-assisted services. I especially enjoy encouraging others, helping them to discover and develop their self-esteem, strengths and talents. My desire for my clients is to experience all the fullness that life has to offer through the achievement of healing, peace, joy and fulfillment.

Darcy

Darcy is my 4 year old English mastiff. She is training to become a certified therapy animal. Her favorite activities include napping, attempting to pose as a lapdog and hanging her head out of the car window so her jowls can flap in the breeze. You can follow her shenanigans on instagram and tiktok @darcy_the_mastiff
